FM200 Fire Suppression System, Design
and Installation Across Saudi Arabia
FM200 extinguishes fire within ten seconds no residue, no water damage, safe for occupied
spaces. Multi Goals designs and installs NFPA 2001-compliant FM200 systems across
Saudi Arabia, including room integrity testing as a standard commissioning step, not an
optional extra.
An FM200 fire suppression system uses HFC-227ea clean agent gas to extinguish fire within ten seconds without leaving any residue, causing water damage, or reducing oxygen to dangerous levels for occupants still in the space. FM200 suppresses fire by absorbing heat from the flame and interrupting the chemical combustion chain reaction at the molecular level. At design concentrations of 6 to 8% by volume, it is non-toxic and safe for occupied spaces.
Multi Goals designs, supplies, installs, and maintains FM200 fire suppression systems across Saudi Arabia. Based in Al Khobar, we have completed FM200 gas suppression projects in Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam, and throughout the Kingdom. Every system is designed to NFPA 2001 with full agent quantity calculations, pipe network sizing, nozzle placement verification, and room integrity testing, the mandatory commissioning step that most competitors skip.
The most important step in FM200 system commissioning is room integrity testing, a door fan pressure test that verifies the enclosure can retain FM200 at or above the minimum extinguishing concentration for at least ten minutes after discharge, as required by NFPA 2001. Without this test, a correctly specified FM200 system installed in an enclosure with excessive leakage will fail to extinguish a deep-seated fire. Multi Goals includes room integrity testing as a standard commissioning step on every project, not an optional extra.

How an FM200 Fire Suppression System Works
FM200 is stored as a liquefied gas under nitrogen pressure in high-pressure cylinders adjacent to the protected space. On fire detection, the control panel initiates a pre-discharge alarm giving occupants at least 30 seconds to evacuate, the NFPA 2001 minimum pre-discharge delay. The solenoid valve then opens, discharging the agent through a calculated pipe network and nozzles positioned to distribute it evenly throughout the entire protected volume. The agent reaches fire-extinguishing concentration throughout the space within ten seconds.
Room Integrity Testing, The Mandatory Step Most Contractors Skip
Room integrity testing uses a calibrated door fan unit installed in the main doorway to pressurize the protected enclosure. The pressure-versus-airflow relationship measured allows calculation of the total leakage area of the enclosure. This leakage area is used to predict the agent hold time, how long the space retains FM200 at or above the minimum extinguishing concentration after discharge. NFPA 2001 requires a minimum ten-minute hold time. Enclosures that fail, typically due to gaps around service penetrations, non-sealing doors, or open cable trays, must have sealing works completed before Civil Defense acceptance of the FM200 system.

Annual Maintenance, NFPA 2001 Requirements
FM200 cylinders must be weighed annually, any agent weight loss exceeding 5% of the design charge triggers recharge. Detection devices, solenoid valves, nozzles, and door closures are inspected annually. Multi Goals provides gas suppression maintenance contracts across Saudi Arabia with Civil Defense-compliant cylinder weight records and inspection certificates produced after every visit.
